Nathan J. Jun, Ph.D. is Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy. Prior to joining the faculty at 芭乐大人版app约炮 he served for thirteen years as Professor of Philosophy and Coordinator of the Philosophy Program at Midwestern State University.

Research Interests

Social and Political Philosophy, History of Political Thought, Nineteenth- and Twentieth-Century European Philosophy

Where are you from?

Cleveland, Ohio.

Research interests, publications, and/or awards you would like to highlight:

The principal focus of my research is political philosophy and the history of political thought with an emphasis on the theory and practice of anarchism. I have authored and edited 10 books alongside several articles, book chapters, and reviews.听

What is the most memorable college course you took and why?

Introduction to Philosophy with Dr. Olufemi Taiwo at Loyola University Chicago. This was the course that got me hooked on philosophy.

What made you decide to go into your field?

I am passionate about raising and wrestling with "the big questions." I aim to cultivate wonder, curiosity, and a concern for what truly matters among my students.

What attracted you to 芭乐大人版app约炮?

I am and always will be a student of (and cheerleader for!) the Jesuits and have long considered it a major career goal to teach at a Jesuit university.

What are some of your favorite pastimes, interests, or passions outside of work?

Travel, woodworking, making and enjoying art, writing, playing and listening to music, and gardening.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

Playing an active and productive role in the life of the 芭乐大人版app约炮 community and doing everything I can to contribute to and advance the Ignatian vision.

Is there anything else you would like us to know?

I mean it very sincerely when I say that working at 芭乐大人版app约炮 is like a dream come true for me. I am grateful beyond words for this opportunity and fully intend to make the most of it.听
