The Department of History at John Carroll has seen many of our graduates go on to do some pretty amazing things. Our graduates have opened their own businesses, obtained M.B.A. degrees, excelled in law schools, entered teaching professions and worked for international organizations--and that just scratches the surface.Ìý Explore alumni success stories in the links below. Katie Atkins:Ìýworks in tenured banking at Quicken Loans.

Erin Kelley: working on a Public History M.A. at James Madison University.ÌýÌý

Riley Larkin: teaching History and AP Psychology at McLean High School in northern Virginia.

Acadia Palocko: attending law school at the University of Akron.

Drew Turner: teaching Global Studies and Economics at Walsh Jesuit High School. Additionally coaching varsity football.

Magdalena Lucas:Ìý teaches world History, Ancient civilizations and GovernmentÌýas well as providesÌýCollege Prep guidance and ACT prep to 12th and 11th gradeÌýat area Orthodox Jewish Schools.Ìý

Rebecca Ries-Roncalli:Ìý isÌýpursuing a masters in Social Science at the University of Chicago. Her research interests are late medieval and early modern Europe, with an emphasis on how women related to the femininityÌýtaught by religious institutions, and how they defied those very constructions of femininity and some became spiritual guides in their own right.Ìý

Zachary Toth: teaches U.S. Government and Honors U.S. Studies atÌýBedford High School. During his first teachingÌýyear at Bedford High School, he was awarded the Rookie ofÌýthe Year award, which is awarded to the best first year teacher in the district. Along with teaching, Zachary is the offensive coordinator of the football team, the varsity assistant of the basketball team and the girls JVÌýsoftball coach.

Johnathan Desrosiers:Ìýcompleted Army training at Fort Leonard Wood; graduated from the Police academy, has served as a police/corrections officer for a municipality, and now works as a police officer for °ÅÀÖ´óÈË°æappÔ¼ÅÚ.

Arnold Paskay:ÌýÌýImmediately after graduation in May, 2017,ÌýArnoldÌýbegan work as a Field Agent for Knights of Columbus Insurance. After two good years in that career, he was the primary field agent for nearly 2,000 brother Knights and their families across six counties in Northeast Ohio. Life pulledÌýArnoldÌýin a different direction, however, and he got a new job in the Commercial Lines department of Westfield Insurance, based in Westfield Center, OH. He now works as an Account Examiner processing new policies as well as renewing old ones.WhileÌýArnoldÌýhas not pursued a career directly in-line with his History degree, his major has allowed him ample knowledge to converse with colleagues and clients, and given him the skill set to research other interests.vastly helped to improve his writing.

Audrey Schmelzer:ÌýisÌýabout to begin her second year serving in Peace Corps China. SheÌýteachesÌýuniversity level students Oral English in Gansu province.
